About - Valmy de la Lande is a very modern framed son of the international superstar Mylord Carthago. He is also the maternal brother to international Grand Prix jumper Norway de la Lande. Valmy has won over half a million euros in prize money. Valmy de la Lande started his career on the French youngster circuit under Axelle Lagoubie, the pair came 5th in the French 6-year-old Championships. Following this success Valmy was secured by Michael Whitaker and has since gone on to win multiple Grand Prix under Jack Whitaker. Michael Whitaker said "it's the best horse I've ever sat on". 

Sire - His sire, the Olympic stallion Mylord Carthago, was not just a five-star performer, but above all a winner! He won the 5* GP of Helsinki, Vienna and Paris, as well as the 5* Nations Cups in Aachen, Rome and Gijón. Mylord Carthago has not only proven himself at the highest level, but also passes on his showjumping qualities and competition mentality to his offspring. In the WBFSH sire ranking he occupied 4^th place in 2024, thanks to Tino La Chapelle, Bingo du Parc and Argan de Beliard, among others.

Damline - Valmy's dam Athena de la Lande II is the daughter of Starter who was the son of the thoroughbred stallion Rantzau xx. Athena competed in the national young horses classes for four-year-olds in France and progressed up to 1.25m-1.30m level. It was never the ambition to take her up the levels in the sport, the main goal was breeding. She produced several offspring who went on to compete at 1.50m+ level in the sport including Jet de la Lande(v. Si Tu Viens), Manon de la Lande (v. Quito de Baussy) and Norway de la Lande (v. Narcos II). 

Progeny - Valmy de la Lande is known to refine and add quality to mares.
