About - In 2022, Sophie Hinners took over the reins on Million Dollar and the pair had a successful season. Having victories and placements in the 3* Nations' Cup with the German Team in Mannheim (2nd), Bratislava (1st) and Budapest (1st). Unfortunately a hernia brought the pairs season to an early finish in July. He has recovered well and will focus on breeding for the 2023 season. Million Dollar has three good paces and a very convincing jump - careful, round and with an excellent impression - everything you would expect from his pedigree. He is best suited to long-legged mares and he will pass on his jumping qualities, good temperament and rideability.
Performance - He completed his 30-day test in Schlieckau in December 2015 with a rideability score of 8.25 and a score of 9.75 for jumping ability. Approval for Holsteiner breeding was granted at the January 2016 licensing in Elmshorn. Million Dollar finished his sports test in Münster-Handorf with flying colours. Expressed in grades, this meant: 8.8 for ability and overall impression, 8.5 for rideability and manner and 8.3 for canter – 8.57 as a weighted final grade. Between the ages of four to six, Million Dollar became a series winner in young horse jumping ability classes at A to M level under Ebba Johansson. For further promotion he was used in the stable of Jos Lansink and under Frank Schuttert (NED). He took targeted assignments on the international stage, good training and placings up to 1.45 meters from his time in Belgium before moving to Sophie Hinners’ stable at the beginning of 2022.
Sire - His sire Plot Blue was an international superstar who remained at the top of the sport for many years, racking up victories, medals and team appearances. He competed at five senior championships, two World Cup Finals, 23 GCT Grand Prix and on the GCT Tour alone he has earned over €420,000 in prize money. Under his long-term partner Marcus Ehning the pair won the Geneva World Cup Final, Team Gold for German in the 2010 Kentucky World Equestrian Games, were fifth individually at the London 2012 Olympic Games and achieved many World Cup qualifier placements.
Damline - His dam Gin Tonic de Muze was only used for breeding but his granddam Daytone de Muze was successful up to 1.60m under Belgian rider Jody Bosteels. His Great grandmother Wallon de Muze was also successful in 1.60m under Michael Hécart, as was her full sister Walnut de Muze, under Harrie Smolders.
Progeny - Million Dollar's eldest offspring are six years old this year and are still at the beginning of their careers. His most successful offspring is undoubtedly the mare Kalifa, who was named Bundeschampionesse in Warendorf in 2022 under Sophie Hinners. She then found her new owner at the PSI auction in December for 500,000 euros. So far, eight of his sons have been licensed throughout Germany, including the second reserve winner of the Holstein licensing in 2019, Milbridge.
