About - Jenson van't Meulenhof Z is an impressive young son of Vagabond de la Pomme who has jumped at the highest level in the sport under Niels Bruynseels. In Barcelona the pair finished 2nd with the Belgian Team in the Nations Cup Final. Achieved a good result at the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in London (2019) and frequently qualified for the most taxing 5* classes.
Niels Bruynseels said 'With Jenson’s career having come to an end the time has come to finally meet the huge demand from breeders and introduce him to a new chapter as a stud stallion. There has always been a lot of interest in Jenson but I wasn’t prepared to combine the sport with breeding. As a young stallion he was used to service mares with fresh semen, but only for a short time. His exceptional siring qualities now show in his first generations of offspring. Meanwhile his oldest sons and daughters themselves jump at 1.50m level. I have ridden a few of his offspring and all of them are good rides with a good model, large frames, enormous capacity and their sire’s top mentality to boot.’
Sire - His sire Vagabond de la Pomme was an international superstar, being one of the most competitive grand prix jumpers on the circuit. His results include second and eighth in the World Cup Final (Las Vegas 2015, Gothenburg 2016), third in the Paris and Chantilly GCT Grands Prix, first and second in the Antwerp 1.55m GCT (2014 and 2015), eighth in the Stuttgart and Bordeaux World Cup qualifiers, and 7th in the World Cup qualifier in Zurich already in the 2017 season. He has so far won €470,000 in prize money.
Mare - Jenson has a strong dam line with his mother Narcotique de Muze IV competing up to 1.50m under Ludo Philippaerts and producing several offspring competing above 1.40m level. Her sire Quidam de Revel is a legend on his own; he has an impressive list of achievements and he himself participated in the Olympic Games in 1992, winning team bronze and finishing fourth individually under Hervé Godignon for France. His dam, sire and grandsire all competed at grand prix themselves - cementing his pedigree as one of supreme reliability. His dam produced a total of four licensed sons, one of them a full brother to Quidam de Revel, and an elite sport mare by Quat'sous, who herself is the dam of three international jumping horses and a CCI2* eventer. Quidam de Revel's two full sisters have produced three licensed sons between them, as well as several sport horses. Ten off his offspring competed at the 2002 World Equestrian Games, including team gold medallist Dollar de la Pierre, who also won a team silver at the 2003 Europeans and finished 7th individually. He has produced more than 130 grand prix offspring, inclduing Maikel van der Vleuten's Verdi, super-sire Nabab de Reve, Guidam, Quasimodo Z, Lys Platiere, Rahotep de Toscane, Quiwi Dream, and Quite Chin Chin Z. Quidam de Revel brings a lot of Thoroughbred blood into the pedigree, with three full-blood stallions in the third generation.
Progeny - Jenson was used as a young stallion covering mares for a short time before focusing on his sports career. His qualities as a sire already shows with his first generation of offspring competing at up to 1.50m level. Additionally, he already has five approved sons. Now retired from sport Jenson will be focusing on his breeding career.
