Information

About - Bon Bravour is modern in type, elegant, well balanced and has good uphill tendency. He has three great basic paces with good natural rhythm, great elasticity, super rideability and a lovely temperament.

Performance - Bon Bravour already had an outstanding young horse career under Belgium rider Tom Franckx. At only four years old he was successful in Hengelo and Roosendahl at Stallion Shows. The following year he qualified for the Young Horses World Championships final and achieved a very respectable 5th place. Bon Bravour was also the Belgium Champion, KWPN-PAVO cup reserve champion and was awarded the prestigious 'Pokal von Belgien'. He won all five qualifiers as a 6 year old for the World Championships but unfortunately had to withdraw due to an injury.

Sire - Painted Black had a dream career as a young horse. As a three-year-old, he was Reserve Champion in the VSN Trophy final, four-year-old Annual Champion at the stallion shows in the Netherlands, runner-up in the World Championships for 6-year-old dressage horses in Verden and winner of the stallion competitions in the Netherlands. He was a winner in international Grand Prix and World Cup competitions for many years before he was taken over by Morgan Barbançon Mestre in 2011 and celebrated great success with her in the Spanish national team. Painted Black was not retired from competition until the age of 19. Numerous offspring are successful at Grand Prix and his licensed sons are internationally sought-after sires. The Dutch federation honoured him with the special title "Preferent", the highest title in Dutch riding horse breeding.

Damline - His dam Odette was champion of her grading and competed successfully in the higher levels of dressage. This dam line has produced many successful offspring in the higher levels of dressage. Odette herself also produced Don Bravour who competed at Grand Prix under Geert Jan Raateland. Odette's sire Chronos competed Grand Prix under Anne van Olst.
